Obtaining Your Annual Social Security Statement

On Behalf of | Feb 11, 2013 | Divorce & Family, Litigation

Social Security Statements are often valuable evidence in divorce cases. While these are no longer mailed to individuals on an annual basis, they are still available online. If you do not already have an online account with Social Security, it is very easy to set one up. Simply go to http://www.ssa.gov/myaccount/ and follow the steps at the bottom of the page to “Sign In or Create an Account”. Once you set up the account, the first page you are brought to has a link to view/download your current Social Security Statement. This should pop up as a PDF which you can save and then e-mail to your attorney or tax professional.
